Are you a qualified practitioner?

Yes! Refined Aesthetics and Laser is a nurse-led aesthetics clinic. I am a Registered Nurse with additional specialist training in aesthetic treatments. Client safety, natural-looking results and professional care are always my priorities.

Can I bring someone to my appointment?

You are welcome to bring a chaperone for support. However, children are not permitted in the treatment room for health and safety reasons.

How do anti-wrinkle treatments work?

Anti-wrinkle injections temporarily relax targeted facial muscles, helping soften the appearance of expression lines and wrinkles while maintaining natural facial movement.

Our approach focuses on subtle, natural-looking results. Treatment is tailored to your facial anatomy and personal goals, although the degree of movement reduction varies.

Do I need a consultation before anti-wrinkle treatment?

Yes. A consultation and appropriate prescribing assessment are required before treatment with prescription-only medicines. This ensures the treatment is suitable and safe for you.

What is lip filler and how long will they last? is it painful?

Natural-looking results are our priority. We assess your facial proportions and discuss your desired outcome to create a treatment plan suited to you.

Lip filler commonly lasts around 6–12 months, although results vary depending on the product, individual metabolism and other factors.

Some discomfort is normal. Where appropriate, a suitable numbing product may be used to improve comfort during treatment.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes! Gift vouchers are available and can be redeemed against eligible treatments. They are valid for six months from the date of issue and are subject to consultation, suitability and our 18+ policy.

Will I have swelling or bruising? If issues can it be dissolved?

Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common following lip filler. These effects usually improve over the following days, although swelling can take up to two weeks to settle fully.

Hyaluronic acid fillers can often be dissolved using hyaluronidase when clinically appropriate. This requires an assessment and carries its own risks.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating the natural repair process and supporting collagen production.

What skin concerns can microneedling help with and how many session will i need?

Microneedling may help improve the appearance of fine lines, uneven texture, certain acne scars and enlarged pores. Suitability depends on your skin condition and individual assessment.

A course of approximately 3–6 sessions may be recommended depending on your skin concerns and treatment goals. Your individual treatment plan will be discussed during consultation.

Is there downtime after microneedling?

You may experience redness, sensitivity, dryness or mild swelling following treatment. These effects commonly settle within a few days, although recovery varies.

Are aesthetic treatments safe?

All aesthetic procedures carry some risks. As a nurse-led clinic, we prioritise thorough consultations, infection prevention, appropriate treatment selection and complication management to minimise these risks.

 

What happens if I experience a complication?

You will receive aftercare guidance and information on when to contact the clinic. Any concerns will be assessed appropriately, and urgent medical referral will be arranged where necessary.

What if I am unsure which treatment is right for me?
